LOCAL NEWS

We have a rumor from Springerville that there was a little shooting affair in that usually quiet and peaceable town a few days since. The parties engaged in this interchange of civilities were Ike Clanton and Pablo Romero, and the immediate cause of the ceremonial display was a game of cards. Romero got a bullet through the left hip, and Clanton received a slight wound in one of his legs from a splintered ball. Neither of the wounds, we are informed, are of a very serious nature. Romero was brought to St. Johns and Dr. Dalby extracted the ball.
